Evaluation of Coronavirus Phobia and Depression in Patients With Cardiovascular Disease

Objective: Although there are numerous studies examining the psychological effects of COVID-19 pandemic on general population, number individuals with cardiovascular disease is limited. This study aimed to determine coronavirus phobia and depressive symptoms their possible associated factors in patients during current period. Material methods: In this cross-sectional study, applied cardiology outpatient clinic due a between November-December, 2020, without any diseases were included. Participants answered questionnaire consisting sociodemographic variables, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) Phobia Scale (CP19-S). Results: total, 372 people participated. The CPS-19 PHQ-9 total scores patient group higher than control group. Patients reported that they most afraid someone family might infected coronavirus. females, CP19-S those history psychiatric illness high. Psychological, somatic, social subscale scores, married lower singles. High leveled-education increased sub-scores. While somatic smokers high, low. Those admitted intensive care reflected low economic scores. Correlation analysis detected correlation subscale, Conclusion: has psychologically affected patients. Evaluation effect may guide taking measures will contribute prognosis mortality disease.
